Xi'an, China
Thea LI looks like a female programmer at school, but there is something more than that. She participates in various NGOs, from newspapers, photography, religion to psychological counseling. She loves theater. She is a hoop performer. She has studied dozens of musical instruments by herself and now specializes in the harp. She likes archaeology, criminology, and watching TV shows. Photography is the way she records this world and herself.

David Mason has a job, but he preserves his humanity by making photographs. Once upon a time, he was a Fulbright Fellow. And he was a board member of the Association for Asian Performance, for awhile. And he’s written some books. He has a naive notion that the attention, the work, the ingenuity, the deliberate-ness that photography demands can really change the world.
